Yosemite Apple Maps Blank iMac 27"

inMap ot Satellite view the window is blank. In satellite view it soon goes all black with just my location in a blue dot. I tried going to Privacy>TCIP to turn off location services but now the lock just opens and immediately shuts so I cannot turn it off and back on again which some said might get it working again

Back up, then upgrade to OS X 10.11, or preferably to newer if the iMac will support newer than OS X 10.11, and test again?

(~Anything running OS X 10.10 can get to OS X 10.11, and an iMac Late 2009 or newer can get to macOS 10.13.)

Hmmm, Monterrey is required for all new Apple Maps features, but...

Start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the Location setting problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

If still need be ...To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?
