My iPad is 10th gen with the M1 chipset. It has 17.05.01 OS. It has available memory and meets the sys req on the App Store page so why the flip is the App Store telling me it’s unavailable for my device? Have even seen an article (on Apple News 3rd party site) stating its roll out date for my device?

That said, FCP is a professional-grade App - for iPad, requiring the advanced power and capabilities of iPads that feature M-series CPUs (i.e, 2024 models of iPad Air M2 and iPad Air M4 - and earlier fifth generation iPad Pro (M1) or sixth generation iPad Pro (M2).
While purely speculative, it is perhaps unlikely that FCP's requirements will be reduced. It is arguably more likely that future versions of FCP will require more powerful devices.

If you actually do have a 10th generation iPad, it does not have an M1 chip, instead it has an A14 Bionic. This would explain the unavailability status.
Only M series chips have ever supported iPad FCP. The A14 is an excellent chip but the M series chips are built differently.
So A14 marketed as one of the most powerful chips to ever grace a tablet, why is FCP not compatible?
