EarPods not connecting to windows computer

After buying Apple EarPods (3.5mm headphone jack) and plugging them into my windows 11 desktop, my computer does not recognize them and does not show at all nor play audio.

AirPods not displaying as audio output option on Lenovo laptop running Windows 11 I can pair my AirPods as a bluetooth device but I'm not able to select them as an "output" option within the "sound" menu. I have tried all the below as potential fixes with nothing working. They had previously paired fine, and I was able to select them for both audio output and input as a mic. Check with the PC owner’s manual or with the PC vendor support, as this could be a difference in the TRRS expected.

Or it could be the jack could be bad. Or the EarPods.

If the PC socket expects a 3.5mm TRS connection for instance (no mike), you may need a TRRS to TRS adapter.
