I have an 11 it was run over still works. Screen is totaled. Can I usb lightning cords together to download info. Screen is locked so ituenes does not recognize it. Any help or ideas is really apprecitated.

Nope. You need to be able to unlock the device for iTunes to access it and back it up.
Backups are preventive measures and should be performed before disaster strikes.
It should backup to iCloud on its own if there's enough space for it, when its connected to power and wi-fi for an extended period of time unless you manually turned off the option in Settings.
You can log in to https://icloud.com and check if there are any backups there from your iPhone.
