I have an iPhone 17 IOS 17.5.1 i had 50+ GB of photos and videos, 17 thousand or so and i offloaded them and deleted them from my gallery, leaving 1200 photos and 52 videos. way better than before! it went from 50+ GB to 47.1 ! why is it still using my storage if it’s deleted entirely off my phone! i expected to be left with around 10 or or GB after deleting tens of thousands of images and videos! helppp

Did you permanently delete the photos and videos? Or are they still taking up space in the Recently Deleted album, while the iPad gives you a little time to change your mind about having deleted them?
If you find photos and videos in that album, you can speed up the recovery of the space by deleting them there … but note that permanently deleted means just that. No getting them back if you change your mind afterwards.
