External Superdrive won’t eject unreadable disc

Made the mistake of inserting an old iMovie DVD w a paper printed label which was unreadable (no alert or desktop icon) into my external Superdrive. It makes repeated noises like it’s trying to eject, but doesn’t. Tried restarting & ejecting w keyboard combos, holding down mouse at startup, & ejecting w terminal command. No luck. There’s no paper clip eject hole, so what to do now? Thanks for any thoughts.

SuperDrive won't eject disc I have an Apple SuperDrive with a disc that will not eject no matter what I do. When I hit eject, it unmounts, doesn't come out of the drive, then immediately re-mounts itself. I have tried a number of different things, including: Ejecting from Finder (with right click as well) Ejecting from Desktop (with right click as well) Ejecting by dragging the icon to the Trash icon Restarting the computer Restarting the computer in safe mode/single user mode/etc to eject the disc/drive from there Unplugging the drive and plugging it into a different iMac and then a Macbook Air Using Disk Utility to eject/unmount the disc/drive Using Disk Utility to eject repair the disc (it shows no issues) Every now and then (but not always) an error message shows up stating the disc cannot be ejected--but then the error resolves itself, unmounts the disc, doesn't eject it, and re-mounts it again. I have searched extensively and cannot seem to find an answer for people with a similar issue (what shows up the most is help relating to discs ejecting themselves when they aren't supposed to). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sonoma 14.0 and Apple USB SuperDrive - are they compatible? Using a MacBook Pro (Apple M1) running Sonoma 14.0 I am unable to use an Apple USB SuperDrive. I'm looking at this help topic: How to connect the Apple USB SuperDrive - Apple Support For example, a DVD is inserted in the drive, and the drive is shiny-side up and connected to the computer. I'd like to eject the disc. My steps: 1. Restart the computer with the SuperDrive attached via a dongle, with a disc inserted. I can hear the motor in the SuperDrive making what sound like normal chunking and whirring noises, so it seems the device is attached and powered up. 2. Open Finder, then open the File menu. Note - I can hear continuing motor noises from the SuperDive. It's doing something. Maybe starting to play the disc? Expected I'd expect to see a DVD player menu, and I expect to be able to eject the disc. Actual The device seems inaccessible and unresponsive. No Eject menu item, no DVD player menu. Unable to recover the disc.

USB A SuperDrive not working on my MacBook Pro with Ventura Hi, I am running on latest Ventura version to date 13.4, and my USB A SuperDrive is not appearing. Also I have a USB A to C adaptor from Apple, but the case is the same. I inserted a movie DVD and I am not being able to eject it. Any ideas on how to solve this? regards!
