Mac mini running Monterey 12.7.5 intermittently drops Ethernet connection to Xfinity broadband

My Mac mini on Monterey 12.7.5 intermittently loses Ethernet connection, spontaneously switching to wi-fi even though wi-fi is turned off on this computer.

Ethernet is at the top of the Network list and was selected, but the selection shifted. What is happening?

M2 Mac mini won't connect to Wi-Fi All the sudden my Mac mini M2 just lost internet speed. I'm talking drastic drop, from 340/420mbps download to scarse 80mps. Nothing has changed in the wifi network in the home. Making a speedtest with a MCbookAir (Intel) side by side, values remain high. My first suspect would be the cable, my second the Router.
