Unable to add any cards to Apple Wallet

I have been trying to add my cards for several weeks. I recently created 2 credit/debit cards. I was able to add the debit but then the credit stuck. I read some suggestions from people who suggested I turn off the pass code, remove all the cards, and add them again. And now the debits of the old card which is already in the app plus the new credit one are all not working at once. I tried many other cards from different card issuers and received the same message so this definitely not the bank problem.


I tried :

  • Reset the network setting - failed.
  • Reset the whole iPhone - failed.
  • Update to the newest IOS version - failed.
  • Search bar Payments Cards and add it from there - failed.


This has been going on nearly a month so please help me with this. Thanks!

Try the following:

  • Be sure to activate your card before attempting to add it to Apple Wallet by contacting your bank.
  • Be sure the card has not expired.
  • Be sure to verify all information on the card matches exactly.


Apple Pay Support


If none of those work, then try linking the payment method:


Open Settings ➢ your name at the top of the list ➢ Payment & ShippingAdd Payment Method.


Once the payment method has been added, you should have the option to link it to Apple Pay.

When you agree to the terms and conditions the verification begins. One of the cards (or possibly more) is having issues. It’s also possible there is an issue with your Apple ID, iTunes account a current or past transaction with Apple.


You’ll need to talk to the banks and ask if their card is Red Path or Red Flow. If they don’t know, ask to speak to a supervisor. If they won’t tell you, it’s no surprise. Most banks won’t be so forthcoming.


Have you tried adding the card using the banks mobile app or website?
