Apple TV on Roku shows infinite spinner

I am trying to use the Apple TV app on my Roku TV, but upon clicking the ‘Sign In’ option, I get an infinite spinner loading screen.


Alternatively I tried going through the Apple TV+ app’s button on my remote which allows me to browse content without signing in, but if I click on any show, I get the same buffering screen.


As a last resort, I tried mirroring content from my iPhone to my Roku TV. I get a consistent error on my iPhone via pop-up stating that this type of content can’t be mirrored. I read in another thread that maybe switching from HD -> SD could help, but I saw no such option. I tried this with different Apple TV shows, but none seem to work.

Another user (mygreensocks) suggested this procedure from Roku Support staff, which reportedly helped several users.

  1. Remove the Apple TV app,
  2. Shut off and unplug the TV (or streaming device),
  3. Wait 30 seconds,
  4. Plug the TV (or streaming device) back in,
  5. Reload the Apple TV app.


Else try the Network Connection Reset, as mentioned by user Jarieta.

If the issue persists after that, then please contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.
