How to delete an app on my iPad?

i was trying to access minecraft after a while of not using it, however it doesnt let me play it. when i click on it, i’m taken straight out of the app. when i tried to delete and re install, it only gave me the option to remove from home screen. i’ve tried deleting it through managing my icloud storage, however that isnt working either.
