Peloton metrics not showing on Apple Watch / Peloton App

I just got a Series 9 Apple Watch with 10.5 software and have had issues getting pace and distance metrics to show on the Peloton App on the watch. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times (last ditch effort I felt), but when I start an outdoor instructor workout (walk or run) or select outdoor walking or running without an instructor, I only have the heart rate showing on the first page. The second page is the timer and the third is either an image of the instructor or not (depending on which workout being used). The metrics are being captured on the iPhone as I can see them if I hold the iPhone in my hand while walking. And the final metrics - avg pace, distance, etc show up on the watch at the end of the workout. But when I run I have my iPhone on my arm and cannot see the metrics, thus the interest in the watch and hoping that the peloton app would do it (based on images on the Peloton app the pace and distance should be above the heart rate).

I've chatted with Peloton support and only got to this point so figured would ask the community if there is something else to do? Anyone had a similar issue on this with a new watch or even way back? Thanks

I think I figured it out with help of Peloton support, though the answer is imo maddening. Apparently the metrics of pace and distance appear if you select an indoor class (say a run on a treadmill) or select just workout run or walk. The metrics do not show if you select an outdoor class with an instructor nor if you select just workout outdoor run or outdoor walk.

I think that is backwards since if you are doing a class on a treadmill you have the pace / distance metrics right in front of you on the machine you are using. Only having the heart rate while doing an outdoor class isn't really that helpful. I raised that to Peloton support so perhaps there will be an update in the future but who knows.

You can of course use the mode on the Apple Watch to track that, but for those tracking steps etc, it looks like you get double counted for calories, miles on the day, etc.
