How to recover a File replaced by another File with the same name on MacBook Air?

i have just tried to save a new word template as a file, I changed the name of the template as it matched the previous one i had worked on.

this had accidentally replaced and made me loose my previous work, however i have two templates with two different file names but both empty... i have tried to revert it back as per instructions on researching but i have no "revert to" to select.
