My MacBook Air is rejecting a new (correct) WiFi password. What happened is my broadband went down. My provider has just fixed it but now there is a new password which my MacBook just keeps kicking out. I’ve tried over and over and restarted twice. Tearing my hair out here!

Try this -
In System Preferences > Network > WiFi > Advanced > WiFI > Preferred Networks (or similar location in the new "System Settings" in Ventura & Sonoma) ... remove the WiFI network name for the network in question. Click OK then Apply (if prompted).
Then turn off WiFi; wait 15-20 seconds; then turn WiFi back on; when your MBAir finds available networks, select your network & attempt to sign in again. If you are prompted for a security method, be sure to select the correct one ... it may be WEP, WPA, WPA2 or WPA3 depending on the router & setup.
Out of curiosity, what broadband vendor is it, what router do you have & why did the fix require a new WiFi password?

Today, it connects okay. I didn’t do anything, maybe it just wanted to sleep on it! Thanks anyway
