Vertical Blue line appeared on the iPad Pro screen

Had my iPad Pro 11 inch 2nd generation for almost 4 years, today morning a vertical blue line appeared on the screen, it wasn’t just a program issue - it was still there on every program and the locked screen, even after rebooting. Around 10 hours after it is just randomly gone again. Is it gonna come back? Or is it fixed? What was even the problem and how to prevent it?

here’s pictures of it being there and then gone

Edit: just appeared for 3 seconds and gone again (in the same place)

You can easily determine if you have a hardware or software issue. A reliable method to confirm a screen or other hardware fault is to take a screenshot when the fault is evident - and then review the captured screenshot image...

When reviewed, if the lines are not present in the screenshot image, then you have demonstrated that you have a hardware fault that, sooner or later, may become sufficiently severe that repair or replacement of the iPad are the only options. If the lines are visible in the screenshot, the something other than hardware will be the cause.

Note: When reviewing the image, rotating the iPad screen orientation by 90°, from Portrait to Landscape, will ensure that the image does not coincide with screen defects if present.

If the test indicates that a hardware fault (as, given your description is perhaps likely) a visit to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store is recommended - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad. This will likely inform your next steps:

In testing the screen as recommended, you have almost certainly confirmed that the your iPad has a hardware fault that will require repair. Whether or not the issue is likely to worsen over coming weeks is impossible to predict. With available information, it is impossible to attribute cause - and makes no difference whatsoever to the outcome.

In your shoes, I would be inclined to delay attempts to have the iPad repaired until returning to my home country - as this will both simplify access to warranty service (if applicable) and in organising test and repair.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.

The screenshot did not have the blue line, i already tested that. Is it that the GPU is damaged, or the screen itself, or maybe the wire connecting the screen to the motherboard? Also, i am currently in China and will be for the next 2 weeks and there aren’t really Genius Bars in the city, will it get worse or will it stay the same on the length of 2 weeks?
