App glitched out stuck to springboard?

My son was using my phone to download and play games off of the App Store. One of the apps he downloaded wouldn’t run after he downloaded it so I told him to uninstall it and pick another. The apps icon is stuck even though it seems it was uninstalled because it’s only on my springboard not in my App Library, nor in app list in storage and nothing happens if I tap on it to try and open it. I’ve tried restarting my phone as well no luck. Any thoughts? I uploaded a YouTube short of the screen recording of me attempting to open the app, uninstall it, remove it, and showing it’s not present anywhere other than the springboard.

Go to Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions/iTunes & App Store purchases and change the setting for Deleting Apps to Allow. If it’s already Allow, turn it off, then on again.

If that doesn’t resolve it do a forced restart:

  • Press and quickly release VOLUME UP

     then

  • Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN

     then

  • Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears

The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky. If done correctly this will always work.
