I have ios17.5.1 .. when I send a iMessage will there be a delivered status underneath it? The read receipts toggle and location sharing toggles are still in the contacts info page..

iPhone->Settings->Messages->scroll down to Send Read Receipts and toggle on/off to suit your preference. This determines whether the person who sent you a text sees a read receipt on their end. And to repeat, this only works between iPhone users, not other platforms like Android.

The most recent iMessage will have "Delivered" under it. Earlier messages will not have the notification. If the person has Read Receipts enabled, "Delivered" will be replaced by "Read" when the message has been read.
Note that this only applies to iMessages (blue). SMS messages (green) will not say "Delivered".
As pointed out the recipient of the text must have read receipts enabled. You cannot enable this from your side. Some users intentionally disable read receipts for personal reasons.

You can't do anything to turn on or off read receipts for someone else. If the person you're sending to doesn't have read receipts enabled, you will never see whether or not they have read your messages. You also only see "Delivered" on the most recent message.
If someone is not responding to your messages, the most likely reason is because they don't want to talk to you.
You cannot see if you are blocked under any circumstances just as you cannot receive a read receipt unless the recipient has it enabled. If someone has blocked you or doesn't want you to know they read your message there's nothing you can do about it.
Here the guide to iOS 17. Maybe you can find what you need in for blocked messages. I know that if I block some the message might end up in the filters.

You will receive no indication that you have been blocked.
I’ve read that to.. but in trying to see if it does show delivered status .. I blocked friends phone and she text me and no delivered status under blue text?
Just tried texting again and was blue bubble and red message saying could not deliver and sent as text message .. very confusing and trying to see if I am blocked or iMessage is off on their phone..

Just curious about toggles on my phone .. you seem to have obviously misunderstood my question.. not read receipts sent from them but the read receipt toggle on my end not there’s.
