KVM Compatibility Mac Mini and PC Laptop - 2 Monitors
I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro, currently hooked up to a pair of ASUS monitors via HDMI. The first HDMI is coming straight out of the Mac Mini while the second HDMI is coming from an OWC Thunderbolt Go Dock. I would like to find a KVM solution that would allow me to swap back and forth between the Mac Mini and my HP ZBook Firefly workstation PC (Core i7 @ 3.00 GHz, Windows 11 Pro). I recently had the laptop pushing two monitors, the one ASUS through the Thunderbolt Go Dock via the USB-C port on the laptop, and a second monitor via the HDMI from the laptop to another monitor. First question is, can I use a single Thunderbolt 4 cable through the appropriate KVM to power a pair of sub 4K monitors? A USB-C in for the Mac Mini and one for the Laptop, then a pair of HDMI outs for the monitors. WIll the Mac Mini drive a pair of monitors (sub 4K) through a single Thunderbolt 4 cable? What are the odds that the laptop would? If that's not going to work, what are some good options to look at with two dual inputs and one dual output via HDMI?
