Which Apple Pencil is a good fit for me?

I am going to buy an Ipad 2024 pro 11 inch 256 BUT cant decide on whether to get Pencil USB-C or the PRO. I will basically use it for inputing to diary ,web browsing and other similar things.

Not sure if I like the Pencil USB-C way of charging via a cable. I have an Ipad pro with a 2nd Generation pencil which simply attaches onto the IPad and charges.

If I get the Pencil Pro would it work as my present pencil does. Ie simply charging on the side of the Ipad.

Thats basically what I am asking.

The Apple Pencil Pro is only compatible with the 2024 iPad Pro M4 and iPad Air M2.

The iPad Pencil Pro pairs and charges with the host iPad using the iPad's magnetic charging dock - in exactly the same manner as the second generation Apple Pencil. By comparison, while the USB-C Pencil can be attached magnetically to compatible iPads, it can only by paired and charged using a wired USB-C connection.

As such, the Apple Pencil Pro is the only choice for wireless pairing and charging with your 2024 iPad Pro M4.

Pair and charge Apple Pencil (USB-C) with iPad - Apple Support

Be aware that the USB-C also lack the advanced functionality and pressure sensitivity of the Apple Pencil Pro.
