Inkscape not working on my MacBook post macOS Monterey update

I recently updated my laptop and now inkscape won't work... any way to fix this OR any way to get my laptop back to whatever it was before?

It is Apple's inherent security in the operating system and Inkscape's disregard for signing their applications as expected by Apple.


Launch Inkscape again and at that dialog, look in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General panel, you should see an entry about Inkscape and you need to click that to allow its installation. Once that is done, and one-time, right-click on the Inkscape application icon and choose Open. Afterward, you can double-click it to launch normally.
