Device freezes up incessantly

I had an iPhone 11. It worked without any issues until about 6 months ago when I allowed a software update.

I do not remember exactly what update it was I believe it was the first 17.

After the update the phone began hanging/freezing up and not responding.

I called support & they did diagnostics and said the phone was ok. Unfortunately dozens of times a day the phone would be unresponsive. To fix it I would do a hard reset and it would work fine for a period of time and then abruptly freeze up again.

after 6 months I had enough and bought a new iPhone 12 and did the phone to phone set up/transfer.

This was yesterday 7/6/24.

Today the new phone froze up and became unresponsive. I could go to settings for example but attempted to click on WiFi to disable it and doing so there was no response at all. I could back out of settings and open safari but attempts to open websites had no results.

I could make phone calls and text but anything app or internet related the phone just doesn’t respond.

I again did my hard reset and the phone is working fine presently until the next time it decides to freeze up.

The original IPhone 11 was purchased together with my wife’s 11 and she’s never once had her phone freeze up.

I’m not thrilled having to hard reset my phone 10+ times a day.

Whats a possible solution & cause.

iPhone 8, iOS 14
