How to determine if the "13 Viruses Detected" pop-up on MacBook Air is a scam?

I have a pop up that comes in every 4 minutes, or so, for a few seconds and goes away. It specifically says “13 viruses detected. Lopo.co.in Your browser is infected! Action required!!”. Is it a scam? How do I get rid of it?

MacBook Air

running macOS Sonoma

Stop unwanted Notifications - Apple Community may also be applicable, in addition to Phony "tech support" / "ransomware" popups and web pages - Apple Community.

They are just different manifestations of the same scams.

It is actually at Safari > Settings > Websites > Notifications. Delete everything you have there, unless you specifically want a known website to give you a Notification in the upper right corner of your screen.

From: Stop unwanted Notifications - Apple Community

With Settings opened, tap on Websites at the top, then scroll down and select Notifications in the left column.

Some notifications will show as nearly-blank entries in the list of websites shown at the right. if the perpetrators are trying to hide their entry, you’ll see an Allow/Deny at the right, and not much else. You’ll need to delete those entries.
