How can I tell if my iPhone has been infected with Spyware?

I like to close the screen displays of Apps I have used, on iPhone7 by double-pressing the Home button, or by Up-Right-swiping on iPhone 11 from its Home screen. In doing so, I sometimes (not always) see a display of a screen that says "Settings" at the top, but otherwise is blank. Is this an indicator of spyware or stalkerware, a possibility in my work environment.

never heard this to be "an indicator of spyware or stalkerware"

Have you restarted the iPhone ie power off/on...

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Reset or a Force Restart,

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Restore from backup, restore as new device.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

-The current stable release of iOS including bug fixes, security updates is iOS 17.5.1

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
