Why after I open an app on my iPad does another of the same app appear at the bottom of my screen?
When I use an icon on my main iPad screen a duplocat appears at the small box at the bottom of the screen

Unless disabled in iPad settings, the icons that you see at the extreme right of the Home Screen dock correspond with your most recently used Apps. You may also see an icon for quick access to your App Library page:
Settings > Home Screen & App Library > [Dock]
