I am having issues updating my payment information on my Apple ID

just want to update flocking credit card exp date and security code ? so I can continue to give Apple money every month. can you make it any more difficult ?

card number stays the same so I can't simply add the card again with the new exp date and security code because Apple says "payment method already exists"

Clicked have notifications sent to iPhone and Mac in order to supposedly see and edit all card information. notification never shows up on Mac. shows up on phone but when I touch the notification it goes nowhere. just disappears.

if the only way to update the exp date on a credit card is to add another credit card in order to be able to delete the one that needs to be updated. then add it back with the updated exp date. then delete the one that was added just to accomplish this simple task that Apple plicks have made so difficult. there is no way to even display the exp date on current credit card payment method much less edit it.

If the credit card you need to update is entered in Apple Pay you have to remove it from Apple Pay first. Then go the normal route to payments and shipping after selecting your name in settings app. After removal from Apple Pay, all credit card info will be available to edit. Apple should write a prompt into the code so when you select a card in payments and shipping for editing, you will be instructed to remove it from Apple Pay in order to gain access.

I presume you are having a problem somewhere? I wonder where? You do not say. I know who is making difficulties here, at least in trying to understand what somebody needs help with. ;-)

Oh, and it isn't us supposedly making things difficult. The people on this forum are users like yourself, not Apple. We just try to resolve issues.

See this article for information about updating payment methods on various platforms (iPhone, Mac, etc.): If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method - Apple Support

Here is how you update your payment method on an iPhone or iPad:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Tap your name.

3. Tap Payment & Shipping (formerly Media & Purchases). You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.

4. Tap Add Payment Method, enter the new payment method, then tap Done.

5. Tap Edit.

6. Tap the red delete button next to the old payment method, then tap Delete.

Also note:

1) ”If you change your address, the credit or debit card information that you use with your Apple ID might be automatically updated by your financial institution, and you don't need to take action.

2) “If there's an issue [such as you having a subscription or being a Family Sharing Organizer], add a new card first, then remove the old card."

card number is the same. system won't allow it to be added twice. only need to change the exp date and security code. can't delete it because of active subscription.

has to do with card being linked to Apple Pay . once the card has been linked to Apple Pay it cannot be displayed for editing exp date in payment & shipping. glitch go to ****
