I am challenged by recent Google changes as they apply to using iOS. Should I switch to CHROME? I am a Senior Citizen and don't know how to get started. I am told I can no longer use the MAIL app due to missing components no longer supported on my elderly computer using Monterey Monterey 1. 75. Should I just try to learn Google system?

Might try this, it's Chrome Browser without google & without Ads...
But as far as WebMail, either broser will work
As far as Mail goes, if you wish we can work through the procees of getting it to work with an App password, or you can try ThunderBird Mail App.
I use Safari as my primary browser and Firefox or Brave as the secondary when needed. I've stayed away from Chrome as Google had a nasty reputation as a data miner: Google is known to "phone home" with users data as was found out with this new Google Photos service: Google Photos may be free — but there's still a cost.

Brave and Firefox are much more secure that Chrome.
While I use Safari as my primary browser, I do use Brave as a secondary browser, for example when I’m answering an Apple Discussion post via Safari on my iPhone, such as now, and want to look something up, I will use the Brave browser.
On my Mac I use Safari for most things, but I use Brave logged into the Slack work messaging system.
