What can I do if my iPhone 8 shows battery service notification?

My iPhone 8 battery is showing me important messages and it’s shows service what can I do about it or what help can I get from apple support

80% maximum capacity is when Apple suggests the battery is eligible for replacement

I think you know what you can do:


  1. You can do nothing and hope nothing goes wrong, but often when batteries lose their healthy capacity, they eventually swell, which destroys the phone, rendering it unrepairable
  2. You can do what Apple recommends and pay to have them replace the battery
  3. You can take this opportunity to trade the phone in towards a newer, more modern iPhone as iPhone 8 is getting up there in years and isn't even capable of running iOS 17, nor will it run iOS 18 when its released this fall
