What Does "Service" in Parts & Service Mean on My New iPhone 11 ?

I recently bought a new iPhone, and under Settings > About > Parts & Service, I noticed that the Battery section says "Service." When I click on it, it redirects me to the Battery Health & Charging menu.

The phone is brand new, and its serial number starts with "N." The battery health shows 100%, and everything seems to be working fine.

What does "Service" in the Parts & Service section even mean? Could this be a bug, or does it indicate something specific about the battery or the phone?

iPhone 11, iOS 18

Where did you buy this “new” iPhone? Go to→Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage and enter the serial number. If the phone is truly new the end of the warranty should be a year from when you bought it.

What is the model number?

It simply shows that it is an original part. When it shows unknown then it has been switched or changed by an unauthorized repair technician. It’s nothing to worry about but to be excited. Of course, it’s brand new iPhone so all parts are original.

Actually, it means that the battery has been replaced. And it IS something to worry about (and return) if the iPhone was sold as “new”.
