How to delete backups on time capsule of macs I don’t have anymore?

When I tried to do this from Finder, I was getting error messages about stuff that could not be deleted. I found a previous conversation regarding this, but none of the replies that I read offered an easy fix. After doing some additional research I was able to uncover the easiest way to perform this task.

Open Finder>Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility, then click on the Airport Time Capsule, select the Edit button, click on the Disks tab, then click on the Erase Disk button. This won’t take long at all and the Time Capsule is wiped clean. The data will remain on the disc but will be written over as you Mac(s) start their backups.
