Comcast email “Comcast currently is not available” error

Trying to install my Comcast email into the Apple Mail app. Keep getting the error message telling me Comcast is not available. I am not running (that I know of) any anti-virus software nor do I have a VPN.

Had it all set up and working for years, then suddenly stopped working correctly, so I deleted the Comcast account and tried to reinstall, which is where I am running into the error message.

Make sure your Comcast account is set to allow third party access.

  • Go to the web mail portal on comcast
  • Click the gear icon in the upper right
  • Choose Email Settings
  • Click the Security tab on the left side
  • Make sure the option for third party access is checked

If Comcast has an issue —verify no server issue, which is beyond your control. Simply try later time/day.
