“Page Up” button stuck. But macs don't have a “Page Up” button

Hi guys,

For the past few days, my mac was acting weird, all pages I would try to scroll would go back up. I troubleshooted the problem and found out the “Page up” button is stuck, however to my surprise my Macbook M2 16” doesn’t have a “Page up” button

The problem starts anywhere between 15mins-1hr after the laptop boots up. I can solve the problem by restarting my mac or going to System Settings>Keyboard>Key Repeat and change it to “Off” for a few seconds and then back to normal.

This seems to be a software issue, should I wait for a new Mac OS update or take my Macbook to a service center?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.2

"Fn–Up Arrow: Page Up: Scroll up one page. Fn–Down Arrow: Page Down: Scroll down one page. Fn–Left Arrow: Home: Scroll to the beginning of a document."

unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
