iPhone is not connecting to Wifi/Internet after repair.

[NOTE: I believe I have resolved this issue (finally!), I will share the solution here for anyone who may be experiencing a similar occurrence. I noticed before posting this that my VPN was glitching like crazy. Like it was trying to connect, then disconnecting, then repeating itself. At first I thought it was a symptom of the connectivity - it was trying to connect to the wifi but couldn't because of the connectivity with the wifi.

But I decided to delete the VPN's to see if anything would change, and it fixed my issue, the wifi symbol is now constantly showing and everything is loading much smoother. What I believe was happening was that the VPN was trying to connect but the data of it either didn't transfer properly, or I might have needed to log back into the app (so everytime it tried to connect it would deny itself as I was logged out, and it would try again, hence why I could never get proper connection as it was constantly interfering with it.)

I will keep this post up just in case someone experiences something similar, below is the context of my issue to understand what was happening.]

Hi folks,

I was hoping to see if anyone has experienced something similar to what I am currently experiencing and has a solution as I really don't want to have to book another Genius Bar appointment.

So, for some context; Today (19/07), my iPhone had it's Mid System replaced due to one of the volume buttons needing fixing. That issue has been resolved, however it meant that I had to backup my data, which I did on my MacBook Air.

I had some trouble with restoring my data, however I was successfully able to sync it over; although when I did this, it created two devices of the same iPhone in my Apple ID. I contacted Apple Support to see if I should delete the older device and they advised me to.

Now, I'm unsure if the problem was there before I did this and never noticed, however I began to notice that as I tried to log back into account's that I had been logged out of, the wifi had disconnected and in some cases kept switching between that and mobile data. Even when mobile data is on, the phone feels sluggish when trying to load things and it's really, really annoying and I've spent my whole afternoon trying to resolve this issue with no luck.

Here is everything that I have tried to do to resolve the issue:

  • Forget the Wifi network and log back in (Copious times with no luck)
  • Erased and restored the phone again (I thought I had resolved the issue, until when I tried going into Tik Tok I noticed the connectivity playing up again)
  • Reset Network Setting (no luck)
  • Restarted the phone (no luck)
  • Checked software (Up to date)

No, I do not believe it is my router. Mainly because I am writing this on my Mac, with as far as I'm aware has wifi connected just fine along with everyone else's devices. I'm going to try and book a Genius Bar appointment on Monday, sucks because it is my last day of University Break and by that day I would've worked 5 day in a row and really would have liked that day to relax. Anyways it is what it is.

If anyone has experienced this issue before and is aware of a solution, please let me know. Sorry if there is typos, it is currently 11:45pm and I was meant to go to bed early because I have work tomorrow. I'm going to leave my phone off for the duration of the night, I'm also hoping it could resolve itself.

It was done by Apple, however the issue has resolved and the phone is working perfectly fine now. Nothing hardware related (thankfully) as I started to believe.

However, the way to resolve the issue was very hard to figure out hence why I came to here in the first place cause I was running out of solutions. Thankfully deleting the VPN's worked, however someone who may not be as tech savvy might easily miss the issue hence why I haven't deleted the post.

Thanks for your input!
