Old photos on my iPhone I want to delete but there is no trash icon. They don't appear on Image Capture on my Macbook, and they are not in a Sync folder. I have never used iCloud Photos and have never used the Photos application, and the iCloud website says I have zero photos. Any idea how to delete these?

OKAY so it turns out what I had to do was to change the SYNC folder in MacOS Finder to some other folder, then sync, then it will ask to delete all existing synced photos, then it will load the new folder, then switch it back to the previous sync folder. Case closed.
