I have tried restarting both devices, and I have unpaired the phone from the tv. I am on the same network and it still does not work. They are both running the same (latest) software version. My family members devices can connect, however.

Just an update to let you know that I contacted support and they asked me to reset my network settings on my phone and iPad and it worked.

If you have the widget in Control Center and can open that, then it should be able to find Apple TV boxes (and select compatible smart TVs) on the same home network as what the iPhone is connected to.
Verify that your home network is set up as recommended, with one SSID network name for all the wireless (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz combined). If different network names are used, then devices on one part cannot communicate with devices on the other part. If connected to a “guest network”, then that gets only internet connectivity, not communication with other network devices. Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points - Apple Support
Do you mean connecting for AirPlay, or some other function?

Hi Urquhart1244, thanks for getting back to me. AirPlay works fine. It’s just the remote app on my phone, which does not seem to be able to connect to the Apple TV. I seem to be having the same issue with my Sonos products as well.

Thanks. I have only one network and neither of my devices (iPad and iPhone) can find the Apple TV so it’s clearly something to do with my general settings on the devices. I will contact support directly as you have suggested.
