Don't use my Mac mini so much but when I try to save a file now it spins for a while then doesn't save the file.
Am I flogging a dead horse here or is there a simple reset solution.
Seems to be quicker if I unplug any USB devices but still doesn't save
Appreciate any help!

Have you run Disk Utility's Disk First Aid on all connected drives?
In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.
Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.
Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?
We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

I'd uninstall TotalAV. 3rd party virus apps (Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, Intego, MacAfee, Norton, ESET NOD32, Trusteer etc) and 3rd party "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up" apps (CleanMyMac, MacKeeper etc). Those produce only obscure errors like this and are not needed.
Agree with uninstalling TotalAV.
Delete these files & restart...

They're mainly text files as in Office, Arduino IDE fairly mundane things.
Since then though, I've done an install of the OS and at present seems OK but it has been a strange one.
Hopefully this will settle it but seems like overkill for something like this.

You need to describe exactly what kind of files, how they were created and how you are trying to save them.

Disk utility shows no major errors and when I ran Etrecheck again no major issues
It seems to affect the saving of text files
