Mac Mini M2 - Loss Of Display Output

I have a new Mac Mini M2 with a new Samsung Viewfinity S9 series 5K monitor connected via USB-C to USB-C (the HDMI just didn't work at all from the start)... I've been using them together for about 6 months... Every couple of months the screen goes black literally as I'm using the computer... I've been restarting the Mac and that seems to correct the problem for a while... I checked all the relevant settings on both devices to ensure there are no setting-related sleep and/or other issues... I checked the T4 cable, and its fine... I seriously doubt its the monitor, i don't game or run video data-intensive programs, and I'm very disappointed that I have to go through this with a new Mac Mini... Is there a permanent fix for this issue, or at least an easier corrective action to restore the display output without having to shut down and swap ports...

I’ve been working this issue with Samsung to ensure its not the monitor… Samsung was shipping 5K Viewfinity S9s with outdated firmware it came with v1120, v1305 was released in Dec 23 (when I bought it), then they just released v1540… I did the update… We’ll see if it fixed the issue… Samsung doesn’t provide a description of what their firmware fixes…

Yeah I was using a Dell 4K P2723QE monitor but kept having flickering issues and black screen. Dell did issue a firmware update as well which I could only do on my Windows PC go figure. Because Dell officially says it does not support MacOS on most of its monitors. I thought maybe most of that was just due to a lack of support for Mac OS with its software app with monitors but apparently more to it than that. All I know is that this is not an isolated issue but does seem that some have zero issues with monitors and others have more.

Well, I spent some time in Apple support chat with a monitor issue using HDMI output which caused issues like colored snow from wake or just doesn't wake. After several suggestions like different cables, resetting monitor and changing settings in monitor. Apple decided to just recommend using their Usb-C thunderbolt to HDMI adaptor instead of HDMI. Which might be a work around, but certainly does not answer why a 1080p standard monitor wouldn't work with the HDMI port? I assume there is a handshake problem with certain monitors but why? Seems neither the monitor makers nor Apple know this answer.
