iPhone not accepting face ID or passcode

So yesterday my safari wasnt working as in it would not let me search anything so I decided to restart the phone hoping to fix the issue but instead my phone would not open! I kept on entering my passcode and it kept saying incorrect and eventually got disabled. Took it to the Apple store they said they dont know the reason and made me reset the phone and I lost my data for the day as that was not backed up since the phone was disabled. It looks like theres something wrong with the current software and not I am scared to restart my phone ever! Also this was on a 15pro!
