Audio output not working even though headphones are connected

I've connected my headphones with my iPhone but the audio is not working. It even shows that the output device is my headphones. I’ve tried restarting both my headphones and iPhone still the problem exists.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17

Even if you have done some of these before, I suggest giving these a try:

Forget and Reconnect Headphones

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Tap the "i" icon next to your WINGS Vader 350 headset and select Forget This Device.
  3. Turn off Bluetooth on your iPhone for a few seconds, then turn it back on.
  4. Put your headphones in pairing mode and reconnect them to your iPhone.
  5. Check Audio Settings:

Ensure the volume is turned up on both your iPhone and the headphones.

  1. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and ensure the Ringer and Alerts volume is turned up.
  2. Check Control Center (swipe down from the top right corner) to see if the audio output is correctly set to your headphones.

Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note that this will erase all your saved Wi-Fi passwords, so make sure you have those handy to re-enter.

Update iOS

  • If not already, update your phone to the latest version of iOS. Currently that is iOS 17.5.1

Check for Bluetooth Interference

  • Ensure there are no other Bluetooth devices or wireless devices causing interference. Try moving away from any other electronic devices that might cause interference. FWIW, Bluetooth operates in the same band as 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Reset Headphones

  • Try resetting your headphones to their factory default, and then, try re-pairing them to your iPhone again.

If none of these steps work, and since they work with another device, the issue could be with your iPhone's Bluetooth. In that case, contacting Apple Support for further assistance would be a good next step.
