I've got a 2024 MBP with Sonoma 14.5 and an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 17.5.1, MMS & SMS both on, Text Message Forwarding is on on the iPhone... Still unable to text android users! Restarted both devices muiltiple times. WTH!?!

Do you see that specific Macbook Pro listed on the phone in Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding?
I've found text forwarding from my Macs can be "iffy" if my iPhone is in another room.
Is the Macbook Pro on the same Apple ID as your iPhone?

Yes on both questions. My iPhone is almost always at my side with my MBP.
Ironically, when I was logging in to post my issue, Apple told me I had to update my PW. So I did, then logged back in to all my devices. Now it's working!
