How to clarify Gift Card inclusions in MacBook Pro listings

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and the listing said a $150 gift card was included. To me that meant that the gift card was part of the deal and was free. However, when I looked at my Apple Card, they charged it to my card and I have to pay 12.50 a month in installments to pay for it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Please look carefully at the receipt. Your MacBook Pro was discounted an additional $150 to makeup for the $150 charged for the gift card.

The store has to get the $150 gift card out of their inventory. So, you’re charged for it. To still make it “free” the MacBook receives a second discount of $150 in addition to the student discount.
