If you’re blocked on iMessage, will the messages say delivered?

I believe I’ve been recently blocked by an old friend of mine and when they told me I was going to be blocked, my messages afterwards would remain blue and not say delivered. However, recently they have been saying delivered after about 20-30 min or a few hours after I send a message. Does this mean I’m unblocked? I’ve seen mixed reviews online that it could mean I still am blocked, just iMessage hiding the text from the receiver.

Could someone please confirm this?

There is nothing on your device that will give a clear indication if you are blocked. Not showing Delivered on your end can happen for a number of reasons and even if it shows Delivered later does not mean you have been unblocked. That is just the way it is. If Apple wanted to provide an indicator on your end that shows if you have been blocked, they could have, but chose not to.

You will always see those options on your end whether you are blocked or not. It makes no difference on what option you choose. If you are blocked, the person will not receive any Notification/Message.

You are seeing mixed information on the internet about blocked calls because people seem to thing they are able to figure out if they are blocked, but the truth is exactly what was stated in the first post: "There is nothing on your device that will give a clear indication if you are blocked". There a multiple reasons why you will or will not see a Delivered message and multiple reasons why a message will be blue or green. Many sites are looking for clicks and this is a perfect topic to get them, so they will claim they have the answer.

Are you trying to end up with legal troubles?

Because that’s quite possibly the path you are on here.

Stop.

You might consider them an old friend, but they clearly have a different view of this relationship, or they presently have different priorities.

If they want to reestablish contact with you — when their view or their priorities shift or whatever — let them contact you.

I should also note that the texts used to say send as text message or send to email address. But now they say delivered, but I’m almost sure I’m still blocked. Does that mean anything?

Nope, it does not mean anything.

Also, do you know what it means by send to email address? Does it email them the sent text message?

No, it will not send the text message as an email. A Message can be sent by either using the phone number or Apple ID email address of the person. If one is not working, you may have the option to try the other. It makes no difference as far as being blocked or unblocked.
