How to change privacy settings to include Adobe Acrobat Reader

I can no longer open Adobe Acrobat files on my Mac. Ventura 13.6.7

I am prompted to go to Settings - Privacy and allow access. I can see a list of authorised applications but not how to change that list or add to it?

iMac 27″, macOS 13.6

There are a few things you can do:

1) Try opening this file from Adobe Resder’s File->Open. It should show you a similar alert, but hopefully add the application to the list.

2) Add Adobe Reader to the Full Disk Access area of System Preferences. This will provide access to files anywhere in your drive or any other drivd connected your mac - no more requests for permission to access specific folders. This assumes you trust the application to give this wide access.

3) Open with Preview

There is no such thing as Adobe Acrobat files; there are pdf files.

What exactly happens when you try to open a pdf by double-clicking. Be specific and, if possible, post a screenshot of the alert you get.

You may have to grant Acrobat access to your Documents folder, or Desktop, or give it Full Access.

I am assuming that this is what is involved, but please clarify.
