Update 10.6 on my apple watch is not working

I have tried every method of resetting that is available to me. I have reset my watch several times. My iPhone finally updated but I can't connect to my watch. When I try to start paring, it pairs but needs an update to continue. When I go to update, it takes 45 minutes before it finally says that it can't work because the watch isn't connected to the internet. But my phone is connected. The watch is also on the charger.

Things I have done to resolve this:

1) I have restarted my phone and my watch.

2) I reset my watch to factory settings, which seems to have unpaired it and makes it not able to connect to wifi because of that.

3) I tried to skip the update but it forces a reset of my phone if I try to just pair without updating the watch.

4) I have tried to keep it on the charger the whole time, both my phone and my watch. They have been right next to each other.

5) I have more than enough space on my watch. Well over the 1.5 gigs needed.

6) I have tried to not touch anything on either the watch or the phone when I get it to finally update but the update tells me it's going to take hours. I have top tier internet with a great modem. It shouldn't take this long.

7) Each time after waiting nearly an hour the update FAILS and says it cannot connect. I have tried to come at it from a few angles but it doesn't ever seem to work.

Extremely frustrating. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Same issue this morning. Update wants your watch on charger to do update but asks for passcode which requires you to take it off the charger, then the phone update won’t verify and tells you you’re not on the internet which was false. Will await the inevitable 10.6.1 version (iPhone 13 btw)

Same issue here with many update error messages today. Update finally started downloading before stalling then pausing and not letting me resume. Restarted both phone and watch and got same error messages. Checked wifi settings and both were connected to same wifi. Turning wifi off and on again on my phone seemed to have resolved the issue. Downloaded and installed properly after that.

I removed the 10.6 download from the watch storage and turned off the automatic updates. I’m back on the old version but my watch works. I’ll wait until they do a NEW update before I try again. 10.6 is problematic and they’re not addressing my issue. I have an open ticket. I’m thinking about switching from these Apple products. 🤦🏾‍♀️

My Watch Series 7 will not update but for different reasons. I'm connected to wi-fi and my watch is on the charger at more than 50% battery. I saw this morning that my watch tried to update itself overnight but could not because it wasn't on the charger. So I tried to run the update this morning, but there is no option to install like there usually is. I switched automatic updates off to see if that would solve the issue. It didn't. Turned wi-fi on and off, restarted phone and watch, and I still don't have an option to install. I guess the only thing left to try is to put my watch on the charger tonight and see if the system will attempt to install it then?

I deleted it from the storage area on my watch not on the phone. You may need to unpair first then turn off automatic updates as soon as you repair it. Try unpairing and then delete the file from storage or unpair then delete the file from storage but be sure to turn off the automatic updates. I cannot remember the exact steps. You just do not want the 10.6 update to attempt to install again.

It was complicated and frustrating but my watch has been working again ever since I deleted that file. It’s a shame that Apple still has not fixed this issue. Surely they can see this thread and I’m quite sure their IT team is having the same issue if they have an Apple Watch. Sorry I can’t recall the exact steps but it took some finessing for me to figure this out on my own. My watch no longer dies so I refuse to install/download that update.

I was having the same issue with my 2023 SE Watch. I'm also subscribed to the Dev Beta Updates

I've been trying to update my watch for the past month and it just errors out. I've tried different wifi networks, put my hotspot on compatibility mode etc., and it never worked. Just this morning i connected my iPhone 15 Pro to my laptop via C-Type for my hotspot and then used my laptop to hotspot my hotspot. For whatever reason it works?

Currently updating to Watch OS 10.6 and if it works i'll be updating to Watch OS 11 Beta 2. I wish there was a way it could tell you how the update failed rather than it just saying it couldn't update

I performed the update to 10.6 on my Apple Watch Series 7 early Saturday and noticed I wasn’t getting notifications from my iPhone 15, to which it was paired. I tried restarting both devices, then looked for an additional update for my watch, but I was told it couldn’t find the watch.

So I decided to unpair my watch and pair it again. My phone could not find my watch.

I still have an Apple Watch 9 paired to the same phone. That seems to be working fine after the 10.6 update.

I have updated my watch series 5 to OS 10.6 on 5 Aug night, Unfortunely the battery was running out left 10% at noon on next day even though my watch was full charged on 5 Aug night. I have charged it when I came home but I found the watch is very hot but without any signs of apple logo and on charging as well. I went to apple shop on next day and ask for help but it is not worked even hard reset the watch. The staff told me it may need send to Singapore for repairing with cost of USD300.00. I am very anger since my watch is health and running smooth before it installed OS 10.6. I really hope Apple inc will take it serious and help me to restore my watch without any cost.
