Using Migration Assistant to set up a new MacBook Air M2 from an old MacBook Air - I want to send over my iCloud email account but not a POP (Verizon) account.

I have >20,000 emails in an old Verizon POP account; many are important and I want to go through and definitively screen/file/delete them on the old MacBook. The POP account is inactive and I don't want it on the new Mac Book. I plan to export the "keeper" emails to the iCloud mailbox once I go through them. I want to bring over all the emails in my iCloud account right away. How do I transfer everything from the old MacBook to the new MacBook EXCEPT the POP email account?

You can't.

Do your migration. Then disconnect your new MBAir from the internet. Open Mail (or Outlook or other email app you may be using). Remove the Verizon email account from your new MBAir; delete any mailbox folders that may be associated with the Verizon account. Close Mail. Then reconnect to the internet.
