ios 17.6. Every single Contact has been duplicated, and the option to delete all duplicates is nowhere to be found.
Incredibly angering, as this is using space. How can they be removed?

It is likely you are syncing your Contacts on 2 different services, such as iCloud and Gmail or Outlook. When the contact is added from one service, it is being added to the other creating a duplicate. If this seems to be the case, you can choose to sync with only one of the services.
Unfortunately, that’s not what’s going on here.
After an iOS update, every contact became duplicated. The system is not presenting any option/way to undo this. It’s supposed to notice when there’s duplication, and offer the choice of deleting or merging. It’s doing neither.
Thanks, but no. This link gives what SHOULD happen to allow editing of duplicates. The update is not giving/showing the options that are given in the instructions at this link.
My Card shows up. No options to edit duplicates shows beneath it. No option in upper left hand corner, as other links have described.
I’m still stuck with every single contact having been duplicated, and still seeking a solution.
If anyone can flag this for an Apple technician, I’d appreciate it…
