what has changed recently to stop hotmail working. ive reset and its worked for the last 10 years.

Around 1 month ago it just stopped getting mail. I can log into live through the web page however the mail app loads the emails when it feels like it and errors most the time with smtp error. All my settings are correct and I’ve done everything google and this forum say.

iPhone 13, iOS 17

The solution is to delete the account, then add it back.

When adding the account, Apple Mail should automatically use the secure authentication method that is required.

If this action fails, then just repeat.

I had a similar issue. Using an iPhone, just log in with a new app password. You may need to paste the password in the Mail account settings, as I had to myself. How to get and use app passwords - Microsoft Help
