Hi! I am a new member of apple, wanted to know if there was a way to add books to "books read this year" without actually buying the e-versions of it

The Apple Books app only supports eBooks. I have a friend who use the app "Bookly" to track his reading in physical books. The downside is that it has gone from a single purchase to a subscription model.
Is there a way to add books to "Books Read This Year" on Apple without purchasing the e-versions?
