I have my updated notes revert to the old version

I was copy-editing some text and had completed the final version on my Notes app in my Macbook Pro M3 14". I noticed my iPhone 13 had the previous version, and the latest version hadn't been synced. I checked and saw that my laptop still had the latest version, so I mistakenly closed the app and reopened it, thinking it would refresh. I ended up losing that final version : (

Is there any way to retrieve what I lost or ensure that this bug doesn't happen again instead of using a third-party app?

I've been a lifelong user of Apple, but recently, I've gotten very annoyed with their gear. There are so many annoying bugs besides this.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.5

Things that are synced through iCloud are not part of an iCloud back up so that won't help. Do you have Time Machine set up on your Mac? If so, you may be able to find the note that way.

Restore items backed up with Time Machine on Mac - Apple Support

If you're not using Time Machine, I suspect your out of luck. Notes doesn't support versioning.

Generally speaking, if you see that an App hasn't synced, wait until it does before closing the app.

To recover lost Notes, check Recent Notes and Deleted Notes, check iCloud Web, and restore from Time Machine backups. Ensure iCloud Sync is enabled on all devices and restart your devices. Proper note saving is crucial, and avoid closing the app immediately after editing. If these steps don't resolve the issue, contact Apple Support for further assistance. Restart devices and contact Apple Support for further resolution.
