Closing All Open Windows In Native "Pages" App On MacBook

I have found my self in a bit of a situation... I saw a questions posed back in 2020 with an individual who was not able to close the 50+ open documents in the Pages app. Unclear as to the device, buuut I am in a similar situation.

I am closing out the window in the top menu... and using "CMD+W..." and that doesn't seem to be working I still see the open pages with the help of a swift left click on the app.

But, now my Pages app keeps shutting down when I open up a new page.

The two maybe unrelated. I have far less than 50 documents open. Maybe about 10-12.

I do have an older MacBook Pro 2016, so it may have just ran it's course... but I just reset my background and not super willing to part ways, or give up hope, just yet.

I would greatly appreciate anyones time, effort, energy, thoughts, and insights into this seemingly meaningless conundrum.

Regards,
