iCloud photos | import manually through browser

I got an older mac (max mac os Monterey), a photo's library with about 25k of media content, all mixed.

I got a 2TB icloud space and wanted to sync all, but through 7 days with different things from reboot, stopping photos and so on it just wouldn't work, and there is no helpful error message anywhere.

So I decided to upload it manually through the browser, unfortunately through the browser it's just jpeg supported, I wrote a converter script to convert all my different image formats to jpeg, that's ok, but videos?

Why is the browser functionality of icloud photos so limited in terms of functions and upload posibilities?
How could I go with my video upload?
a. buy a new mac, setup iphoto, import videos, and hope it syncs?
b. move away from icloud
c. somehow upload to icloud drive and maybe from there I could move it into photos?
d. somehow import the videos to my iphone and sync from there into the cloud?

What are your thoughts?

iCloud Photos is a synchronization service-- iCloud Photos ensures that the Photos Library of each of the the connected devices stays exactly the same. iCloud Photos is not intended as a method of off-loading pictures to an external space.

So, as muguy says, the way you get pictures from iCloud Photos is to make a new empty Photos Library on our Mac, make it the System Library, and connect it to iCloud. Then wait for it to fill with pictures until it has them all.
