How to change the password to Mail App on Monterey

My mail was hacked so I had to change the password for the account at the provider. I confirmed I have an access to the webmail. I need to change the Mac Mail's password to have an access from my MBP. I followed a Q&A for someone else in this Apple Support Community made in Aug 2023, and I tried so far:

(1) In the Mail Preference, I changed the password for IMAP and SMTP. Unfortunately, the Account under SMTP says, it is "Offline". So the changes could not be saved.

(2) In the Internet Accounts in the System Preference, I changed the relevant mail account's password. It did not save the change. I clicked open the "Advanced...", but I don't know what to fill in the Path Prefix.

Could anyone help me how to change the password, etc., so that I can re-connect to my mail account on Mac?

My MacBook Pro is 16-inch late 2019. The OS is Monterey 12.7.5
